Report Phishing or Malicious Content

 

Some internet service providers (ISPs) and email providers block users from forwarding messages that contain phishing links or malicious content. Unfortunately, this can also prevent users from reporting those messages to investigative organizations such as the APWG.

If you are unable to forward the original message, please use the form below to submit the information directly to us.

 

How to Submit a Report

 

  1. Select the type of report:
    • Phishing
    • Malicious Content
  2. If you are reporting phishing:
    • Copy and paste the URL the sender wants you to visit into the URL field.
    • Example: https://phishsite.com/page1
    • This may be the link behind a Login, Verify Account, View Document, or similar button.
    • If you can identify the organization or brand being impersonated, enter its name in the Brand field.
  3. If you are reporting malicious content:
    • Copy and paste the URL that leads to, hosts, or attempts to download the malicious content into the URL field.
    • Example: https://badguy.com/here
  4. Enter the date and time received.
    • Copy the date and time shown on the original message and enter it in the Date Received field.
  5. Provide the message contents.
    • You may optionally copy and paste the original message into the Message Contents field.
  6. Request an email receipt.
    • If you would like confirmation that your report was submitted, enter your email address.
    • Providing your email address is optional.
