Upcoming APWG Meetings

The APWG holds a General Meeting each year in the fall. This is accompanied by two or three additional events each year to include the eCrime Researchers Summit and Counter-eCrime Operations Summit. Current scheduled events include:

  • eCrime 2012, October 22 - 25, Puerto Rico, US
    eCrime 2012 is made up of two disctinct programs, the annual General Members Meeting and the eCrime Researchers Summit VII. During the General Meeting the APWG will examine crimeware's evolution, behavioral vulnerabilities and human factors that contribute to eCrime's success, the roles of Registrars, Registries and DNS in managing phishing attacks, public health approaches to managing the eCrime scourge, as well as breaking news on counter-eCrime efforts and resources.

    The seventh annual APWG eCrime Researchers Summit (eCRS VII) will be held as part of eCrime '12 on October 22-24, 2012 in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico. eCRS 2012 will bring together academic researchers, security practitioners, and law enforcement to discuss all aspects of electronic crime and ways to combat it. The extended eCrime event includes the APWG General Members Only meeting and ICAN DNS Security, Stability and Resiliency Symposium.

Hack in The Box Security Conference 2012

The second annual HITB Security Conference in Europe featuring a Quad Track line up with keynote by Joe Sullivan and keynote panel discussion on The Economics of Vulnerabilities featuring panelists from Mozilla, Microsoft, Google, ZDI, McAfee and Adobe!
 

Security Summit 2012
Security Summit is the annual event about IT systems, networks and information security that takes place in Italy (Milan, in March - Rome, in June - Verona, in October). Its program includes free vendor-independent talks, presentations and keynote addresses, delivered by internationally known speakers. The innovative format of the Summit joins highly focused meetings and training activities dedicated to technical, legal and security management issues. During its last edition, Security Summit registered a total attendance of 950 people, made up of business and services, Public Administrations and Utilities and ICT security specialised vendors.
 

24th Annual FIRST Conference on Computer Security Incident Handling
The annual FIRST conference provides a setting for conference participants to attend a wide range of presentations delivered by leading experts in both the CSIRT field and from the global security community. The conference also creates opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing technical information and management practices. The conference enables attendees to meet their peers and build confidential relationships across corporate disciplines and geographical boundaries. FIRST conference participants include not only CSIRT staff, but also IT managers, network and system administrators, software and hardware vendors, law enforcement representatives, security solutions providers, telecommunications organizations, ISPs, and general computer and network security personnel.
